Introduction

WIRES is a game based on a mass-spring physics engine where all the parts of the dynamical objects in the game are generated by the interaction between point masses, springs, solid objects and the player's input. Objects such as cars, rockets and rocket cars (see the images on this page) can be controlled in the various levels of the game. The dynamic objects can break in many interresting ways when the springs get overloaded which results in that the player must adapt to the new characteristics of the objects. A rocket may for example loose one or several of its rocket engines which means that it must be controlled in a different manner.

All levels have a highscore list and some levels can be played in a split-screen multiplayer mode. The mechanics of the levels (and menus) is also fully accessible to the user through the XML-based level format.
